Eye Health
EyeSelect Eye Doctors are passionate about providing comprehensive eye care. This includes detection and management of Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Lazy Eye and other vision related problems.
During your eye exam, your optometrist will ask you questions about your general health, medications you may be taking and overall lifestyle in order to gain more insight about your vision needs and to better educate you on how your medical history could potentially affect your eyes.
It is important to have your eyes examined regularly because your optometrist may also be able to detect underlying systemic conditions from your eye health exam; such as diabetes, high blood pressure, potential risk of stroke etc.
Alberta Health Care covers eye emergencies and medically related eye visits for Albertans of all ages.
Children under the age of 19 and seniors 65 years of age and over are covered by Alberta Health Care for a vision exam annually.
